Code 3 Counseling is now the
for
First responders often choose this life of service because they want to serve something bigger than themselves. For many responders and their families, this comes from a Christian faith perspective. You believe God has created you for this calling. To be the line between civilians and evil in the world, devastation, destruction. You walk the thin line to ensure the safety of complete strangers. You love the person on the line because of their willingness to sacrifice so much to make this world a better place.
With all of the darkness and evil you see, your partner sees, it can really take a toll on your walk with God. And then you see the way the world treats you and your thin line family, it’s enough to exhaust the toughest soldiers. Toss in the fact that we live in a world filled to the brim with discord and brokenness, and you are set up to be overwhelmed.
You find yourself questioning all of it, because it isn’t supposed to be so difficult. Why would God ask you to do such hard work in a dark world? Or maybe you even find yourself questioning if there is a God?
Whatever the case may be, you know you need some support. Friends and family are there, but going to them doesn’t seem to help. You struggle to hear God’s voice, to find His clarity based in His truth. It could be struggles around your relationship with your spouse, difficult family dynamics, the constant exposure to trauma and horror at work, or even just the stress of life. But you want guidance from a Christian and Biblical perspective. You want help that you can trust.
Find your hope in Christ.
At Code 3 Counseling, we can work with you around many different issues with the understanding of God’s truth in this world. You want support for trauma, stress, relationship issues, and you want your beliefs to be a part of the process. We can help you find the hope you are looking for, through the work God can do in your healing process. We have counselors who are able to integrate a Christian perspective into your services. We are also able to focus on how your faith plays a part in your experience as a first responder or family member.
We understand how challenging it can be to find a counselor who is able to incorporate your Christian beliefs into your services. Especially when you know, deep down, how badly you need Jesus in this space. We have been blessed to witness the different ways God has brought peace and healing to people in the counseling space. And we are ready to help you experience that peace in your life on the line.
Christian Counseling sessions last between 45-50 minutes per session. Sessions occur on average once every week or two weeks, but we can also schedule these less often for those who have shiftwork schedules that make it difficult to plan regular sessions. Based on your goals and treatment needs, counseling can be as brief as 8-10 sessions or can be longer-term over a year or two. To know the fees and costs for sessions, look here.
How can Christian Counseling help me?
Christian counseling can help you by incorporating God’s Word and Biblical truths into the processing of your issues. Your counselor can help you explore the problems you face while also exploring how these issues interact with your beliefs and your walk with God.
There are many different reasons why people seek our Christian counseling, including:
● Dealing with the constant exposure to darkness● Coping with anxiety● Managing stress as a first responder● Dealing with depression● Recovering from grief and loss● Strengthening your faith● Improving your relationship with God● Religious trauma and/or church hurt● Anger management● Coping with parenting struggles● Poor self-esteem or self-confidence● Poor relationships with peers
How can Christian Counseling help my marriage?
One of the most significant factors in a successful relationship is finding shared meaning. As a first responder couple, you have established this in a way many other couples struggle. Add in a shared faith, and you are setting up your marriage for long-term success.
Now that is all fine and dandy, but getting there is really tough work.
Through Christian counseling, you and your partner can explore how your beliefs play a part in the way you interact together. Understanding how God can work in your relationship can also help to give you a more clear picture of the way your marriage can move forward. Your counselor with Code 3 Counseling can support you in finding the fulfillment you desire in your marriage.
You will experience God breathing life into your marriage, restoring your relationship.
What does Christian Counseling look like?
Christian counseling looks very similar to other forms of counseling. The primary difference is that in Christian counseling, your counselor is able to explore how your spiritual beliefs are connected to your mental health issues. We can also help provide you with some insight into biblical truths that bring light to what you are experiencing.
There is no specific way that Christian counseling manifests for every person. At Code 3 Counseling, we will work with you to make sure the services you are receiving are the best fit for your needs. All of this will depend on your own faith journey and needs. We do not provide counseling services that adhere to strict rules or denominations; we don’t tell you what to believe. What we do is explore how your personal beliefs influence and interact with your experiences. We believe it is important to remember how your walk with God, your spiritual wellbeing, can impact your own mental health and emotional experiences.
Our hope is to help you better understand the existential struggle that is common to experience when exposed to the extreme darkness in this world.
With God’s guidance, you will see your own experience of life become more aligned with the hope and peace you desire.
You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me up in glory!
