Liz Durfee, ACSW

Liz Durfee is one of our mental health counselors.
Liz is an army veteran with over five yeas of active-duty experience as an officer. She not only has experience working with law enforcement and military families, but she also comes from a first responder and military family. She truly has a heart serving those who are called to these fields.
Liz has previous experience in helping individuals, organizations, and the community by promoting mental health awareness with an emphasis in military and first responder communities.
Whether you are a woman who serves or a couple struggling to connect in this life of service, Liz is here to support you and help you thrive!

Alisha Sweyd, LMFT, CFRC

Alisha Sweyd is the Co-Founder and President of Code 3 Counseling. She has lived in a first responder family since birth, being born while her father was stationed in the Army. Her father became a police officer when she was 8 years old. Now being married to a detective, Alisha cannot recall a time where she was not directly influenced by the first responder life.
Alisha enjoys working with first responders and their families to better manage the chaotic influences of this life. She is truly humbled to witness these responders and families find their stride as they successfully serve in this calling. Alisha especially enjoys working with first responder couples, helping them find joy and fulfillment in their relationship while serving others.
When she is not helping responders, Alisha spends her time with her husband and their two young children, participating in events with her local church, reading books about make believe worlds, and watching the waves crash along the Monterey Peninsula.

Shawn R. Cavin

Shawn R. Cavin is the Co-Founder of Code 3 Counseling.
Shawn served in the 10th Mountain Division of the United States Army out of Fort Drum in New York. After serving for six years, he moved back to California with his wife and daughter. Shortly after moving back, he became a Police Officer with the Manteca Police Department.
During his time in law enforcement, Shawn served as a detective in the narcotics and gang unit, was a member of the mounted police unit and the SWAT team, and also served as a school resource officer. He retired after 21 years. Shawn feels blessed for his experiences serving his country, and is thankful to continue supporting those who serve.
In his retirement, Shawn enjoys traveling the world with his wife of over thirty years, Kerri. He also values the time he gets to spend with his three young grandchildren, and sometimes likes to hang out with his two adult daughters. Shawn's favorite pastimes include hiking, riding his motorcycle, and enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sunset and listening to his wife's vinyl records.
