How can premarital counseling help our relationship?

When couples engage in premarital counseling, or counseling in the first two years of their relationship, they experience incredible relationship benefits! Benefits can include, but are not limited to:

Building a relationship that is fulfilling and meaningful. Most couples want their marriage to last a lifetime. But going the distance isn't the only thing we should strive for. You want a marriage that goes deeper and does more, and premarital counseling can help you do just that.
Reduces your risk of divorce by 31%! The research proves just how important it is to engage in premarital counseling. The tools and skills you learn can help to prevent those unwanted outcomes in marriages.
Instills honeymoon habits that last for decades. You want to do the things that bring you closer together as a couple, that ignite passion and intimacy. We can help you find out what those are for your unique relationship through premarital counseling.
Set realistic expectations for your marriage. We all go into relationships with hopes, dreams, and yes, expectations. In premarital counseling, we help you have those conversations so you both can understand what expectations support your marriage, and which ones are unrealistic, especially for first responder couples.
Establishes a positive foundation for seeking help further on down the road. All couples will hit rough patches. When you engage in premarital counseling early on, you actually set yourselves up for overcoming those rough patches yourselves. You both learn to feel comfortable having conversations with a counselor, and can even create a relationship with your counselor that can help make it easier if you do need to return.
