Stay Strong & Courageous: Encouragement for Law Enforcement Part 3
Hi Guys, this is Dave Bricker. Retired Chief of Police for the City of Manteca.
I was a cop for a long time. I was around for the United Farm Worker Riots in the 1970s. I was here for Rodney King and Ferguson and a dozen others in between.
I know this one seems like it is bad.
Everybody is mad at us. Nobody is listening. Everybody is blaming us for all the problems that there are.
But I am here to tell you, you will get through this.
And it will get better.
Just remember who you are. You are the line in the sand. You are what stands between the innocent and the storm.
Do your job with honor and pride. Hold your head up high.
When the weight gets too heavy, and it will, reach out.
You’ve got 800,000 brothers and sisters out there in uniform and there is many more of us that are all here in retirement. We’re your family. Let us shoulder the weight for you for a while.
Duty. Honor. Service.
You got this!
Chief Dave Bricker, Retired Manteca Police Department
